There are 623 pages with 475 pages of complete color reproductions ehon and single sheets (totaling several hundred plates) of 133 individually titled works (67 from the British Museum and 62 from Japanese collections) with an opening 40+ page discussion by Kobayashi Tadashi titled "Acceptance of Shunga" followed by 13 more pages of two essays "Shunga and Meiji Japan" and "Daimyo and Shunga," with commentary accompanying many of the plates, plus 10 pages of brief biographical sketches of 42 artists, a 3 page bibliography ending with a 4 page Japanese plate list and 10 page English plate list.
